Visiting from Chesapeake Virginia and came across this gem. Holy cow was it good! I got the caramel cashew and my boyfriend had the peanut butter. Both were fantastic.

Stopped in on a whim after a baseball tournament for some ice cream. Best whim ever! There was live music outside and everything. Our three kids had a blast!

Friendly and prompt staff, excellent ice cream (so rich and creamy), great products (farm-grown frozen pork chops, home-made Chesapeake cheese, etc.), amazing prices, and a wonderful atmosphere. This place is built on the farm, so you can enjoy the fresh fodder as you sit at the picnic tables and listen to the live music that plays during the summer evenings. They're open during the winter too (and just as busy), so there's plenty of inside seating as well. There's a lunch menu that looks tasty and affordable. However, I've mainly gone there to eat ice cream and pick up some frozen meats for my own home cooked meals. I definitely need to take advantage of their offer though! My only complaint would be the cream of crab soup. There was a little too much cartilage (not shell) mixed in with the shredded meat. The flavour, however, was beyond delicious.

My daughter and I love this place. It's a small little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. The food is to die for, especially the Mac & Cheese!! I'm not a huge ice cream fan but theirs is really good. You can get a cup of soup, a half a sandwich and a very small ice cream and be VERY full. They sell local products such as meats and dairy and fresh brew their own Mason jar iced tea. The staff is great. The service can be a little slow at times but it's worth the wait. And expect a crowd on the weekends!!!

Let me start by saying I wish I had a diary farm and could make ice cream because this place has a genius idea to work around but really falls short in the service department. Every potential to earn 5 stars, but today I can only give 3. They are open for lunch through dinner serving up sandwiches, salads, soups, quiche, and of course ice cream. I usually go with the Cowman's Repast (a cup of soup, half of a sandwich, and a very small ice cream). Now I think the items on their own are reasonably priced; half sandwich w/chips and pickle $3.75, soup $4.50 (a little pricy but the going rate for the area and the soup is worth it!), very small ice cream $2.75. As a meal combo though, it's $10.20...a little steep. The soups are fantastic! They are the reason for two of the stars I am offering. I enjoy the MD crab, the cream of crab, and the MD/cream of crab mix. Once I ordered the MD Mac (MD crab and mac and cheese) but they got the order wrong (happens often) so I haven't tried it. The sandwiches are good but nothing special, I have had the tuna salad (contained egg), ham, and grilled cheese, always with bread and butter pickle chips-yum. From family and co-workers I hear the quiche and bbq pork are fantastic! For the ice cream...it's very rich and has been hit or miss. For many years I wouldn't even try it because I had it once, a long time ago, back before they offered all of the food items and it wasn't good and I was very sick afterward. I only started to try it again after many recommendations and seeing how crowded the parking lot was so I tried the graham cracker cake batter and fell in love! For the longest time it was my absolute favorite until I tried the salted caramel. Now, since I cannot chose between them, I get a scoop of both in the very small size. Anything larger is too much, it's just too rich and probably too natural and my body is seeking the preservatives and chemicals found in store bought ice cream. I recently tried the flavor, End of Summer (sweet corn ice cream with pieces of corn, old bay seasoning, and possibly caramel swirl, but I could be wrong about that part), either way it's awesome! It's like cream of crab soup in frozen form! Kudos to them for creating such a unique and tasty treat, very brave and very much worth it. Where I am not impressed is with traditional flavors like vanilla and chocolate, nothing special there and I haven't been wowed by the fruit flavors, peach and strawberry..I did have a raspberry or blackberry swirl once it wasn't bad. So, the third star here is for the ice cream. Where they lose so much in my book is the service. The staff is friendly, but not very helpful and super slow, slower than slow, and I base this on many occasions. You'd think they were hand churning each item as it's ordered. Case in point, I heard about the End of Summer flavor and wanted to try it. I stopped in one afternoon and found the line out the door and down the field. I proceeded back to my car. I returned three days later to find a much shorter line, about five ppl out the door and began to wait. 20 minutes later I had only taken a step and a half forward, we moved up one spot and a small child who had been standing was pick up so we inched up just a bit further. Again, I recognized defeat and went back to my car. It took a co-worker stopping in one early afternoon to get the ice cream and bring it into me...that's why I am no exactly sure about the ingredients. I am grateful that she did because it was delicious. The whole office got to try it and there was plenty leftover for me to enjoy after lunch the next day. They really need to get a better handle on the service speed. About two months ago we went for lunch and it was a solid hour to receive our meals and eat, and we are fast eaters. They need to separate meal ordering from ice cream ordering and they need to speed up meal prep. If Panera can do it, so can they. They have a sign that says if you get your meal fast (like 15mins) they aren't busy. It's cute until you've waited 45mins for an ice cream. I would be happy to lend some logistical advice, I have thought up about four different models of how to more efficiently run their business while waiting in the horrific line. If your a very patient person, you should definitely check them out, especially for a tasty soup or cup of ice cream.

To me, atmosphere is (almost) everything. I think that's why I like this place more than I should. I knew I would like this place based on the drive alone. Being a Marylander who unfortunately moved to Florida, I LOVED the forests we drove through going here. Pulling in, I fell in love with the whole pastoral feel of the place--gravel parking lot, a nice huge grassy area, and corn fields everywhere. Much better than the Rita's-esque setting than I was expecting. Well, that's what I get for not checking Yelp. The interior of the shop is cozy and the employees friendly, if rushed (the line was out the door). Next time I'm visiting (or moving back...who knows), I think I want to try some of their farm grown meat and dairy. They look delicious! Now, to the ice cream. There are a myriad of awesome flavors to try. Dirt sounded delicious, but I adore Andes mints, so I got the Andes mint ice cream sundae (topped with hot fudge). As others have said here, the sizes are way bigger than you'd think. The very small (what I ordered) was basically a small, or even a medium if you push it. I'd say the small is a medium, and the medium is large and the large and extra large. The ice cream was...not mindblowing, but better than grocery store ice cream. I'm partial to really rich, creamy, indulgent ice creams (I'm talking to you gelato), and this was just not that. It was good, but not great. I also would have appreciated more pieces of Andes. Like I mentioned earlier, the setting is splendid. A nice cool summer night probably made my ice cream taste better than it did. There was some teenager playing acoustic covers of songs. I was not a fan. Really, this place isn't as AMAZING as everyone says it is. The ice cream was pretty good, setting amazing and prices relatively low ($23 for six people, sizes ranging from small to medium, all sundaes). If you're in the area, this place is worth a stop.

I love this local dairy farm. I have spent many afternoons and evenings here while in the area enjoying the amazing ice cream and relaxing in a rocking chair. It's a family ran farm and you can almost always find the matriarch serving up ice cream or one of the many food options they offer. The ice cream selection changes daily. They do try and keep vanilla and chocolate on hand but there's been times I have not seen it on the chalkboard. If you are a fan of chocolate like myself and you happen to see DIRT on the ice cream list go for it. No need to thank me. Just enjoy. They also offer products from other local farms. You'll find cheese and meats along with seasonal fruit and veggies. Let's not forget to mention that they have live music on Friday/Saturday nights. I'm sure there are things I'm forgetting to mention like the balls/games that they put out for the kiddos. All I can leave you with is if you are anywhere near this place you need to stop by.

Brooms Bloom is incredible. I have been here countless times and enjoyed everything I've ever got. I personally recommend their iced teas and pork BBQ. The ice cream is obviously great as well. A line will probably be present, but is worth the wait. A great family friendly place and definitely one of Harford County's finest.

On my recent visit to Broom's Bloom, I ordered an ice cream duo which can be aptly described as a picnic in a cup. Let that sink in for a few minutes. Picnic. Cup. What images does that phrase conjure up? Well, think of sweet corn churned with cream to make the most magical of desserts. Add a pretty purple scoop of ice cream that somehow tastes like a blueberry pie, and you are golden. That odd couple turned out to be a harmonious combination. Who would have thought? Take note that the sizes are deceptively big. A very small is a small, a small is a medium and so on. You can get half and half flavours, and even a cone on top. Apparently the flavours change every so often, minus the usual vanilla and ice cream. You can also get homemade quiches, soups and sandwiches -- note that the only food item available after 7pm is soup (the crab is delish). Loved the ice cream, and I think you will too!

I love it here. The cows, the sunflowers, the ICE CREAM. I know they also have food and I've been meaning to try it because it always smells great, but the ICE CREAM. It's my favorite ice cream of all time from anywhere ever in all of my ice cream eating years (which is 26 so far). It's creamy and airy and basically perfect. Dirt and lemon peppermint are my most favorites. However, the selection changes daily- you can find what's available written on the chalkboard. Portions are phenomenal for the price. Employees are always nice and you can see they're working hard and doing the best they can, so don't get too flustered if service is a little slow (it can be on occasion and you'll forget you even waited once you're eating your ice cream anyway). A+ 10/10 I dream of this ice cream

After a truly horrible drive (NYC to DC on the Sunday of the Independence Day Weekend? What were we thinking!?) we skipped the overcrowded rest stop and engaged Yelp to find us dinner/break. And boy did Yelp deliver. With an anxious 2yo in the back the ability to run around outside, live music and, of course, delicious food made this a great stop (though it violated my "more than one mile off the highway" rule). We went with a spread, both of us getting the sandwich (ham salad for me and egg salad for the wife), side (delicious crab soup and great mac and cheese), along with a small quiche, followed, eventually, (they have a system where they give you a chip to redeem after your meal) awesome ice cream. We got combo's that came with a completely misnamed "very small" size (after the meal I don't see how you can eat anything more and not feel bad) of some pretty broad selection of flavors. Definitely will stop in again the next time I am driving this route.

Chocolate ..... chocolate...... chocolate..... ice cream that is so creamy and not as dense nor fluffy.... heaven! Ok. So. If chocolate isn't your thing, they do make a ton of flavors... and when one runs out, they just put another one on the board. They also have other foods... if you want to try something other than ice cream... but really --- really?? This location is on a farm. So great views and fun place to just be. Yum!

This place is so great! We came here 2 days in a row! They have these cute little combos that give you a taste of their amazing crab chowder (or a choice of other soups), half a sandwich and their famous ice cream! They also have various combinations which include salad, fruit salad, mac and cheese - it was hard to choose, but once I had that crab chowder, there were no question! The interior is very cute, like having a picnic inside or being in a quaint little country house. They had someone playing/singing live outside and benches to enjoy the weather. They also sell things like honey, meat, milk and other products of the farm. If you come here during busy times (lunch/dinner), be prepared to wait because they have lines that stretch out the door! It is a good idea to order your food and ice cream (if you don't get a combination) so they can give you a chip to redeem for the ice cream when you are done eating because you will kick yourself and watch your desired ice cream get erased off the board while you're on line to make that purchase. Good thing that didn't happen to us! =) The peanut butter ice cream was great and I also enjoyed the Vanilla thin mint ice cream. I wish we had places like this in/near brooklyn because I'd be there all the time - on second thought, maybe not so close because then I'd be fat.. Anyway, if you're around the area (or even if you're not), make a trip there because it will be so worth it! =)

I lived in Harford County for 29 years and never stopped by Brooms Bloom. Now that I am a CA resident, I gravitate towards this type of establishment whenever I visit MD. Myself and two others had lunch here today, and loved the atmosphere! There was a vibe of family between the staff and customers. We each got combo options with soup, sandwich and a small ice cream. The Cream of Crab Soup was amazing, and the Red Pepper Gouda Bisque was super flavorful! This was a lot of food, so what we could eat of the ice cream, was delicious. Will def come back, if only to try the other ice cream flavors.

I can't say enough about the locally produced fare at Broom's. The prices are reasonable, the entire menu is fantastic, and the outdoor picnic atmosphere is refreshing. My only complaint (which didn't effect the rating) is that they don't allow dogs anywhere. Considering how spread out their outdoor dining area is, it would be great if they had a dog friendly area. I definitely would come more often.

Love this little gem. The ice cream is delicious. The portion sizes are huge. They are a small family friendly barn style ice cream pallor. They sell local meat, cheese, eggs, milk, and honey. They also serve homemade quiche and other homemade savory dishes. They sell coffee, tea, and soda but they have water for free! The one and only thing stopping me from giving them 5 stars is that some of the employees can have an attitude problem. I assume because they are so crowded all the time they don't get much of a break maybe.

FOOD: I got the cowman's repast- you get a choice of soup/mac and cheese, 1/2 sandwich, and a "very small" ice cream that is actually not small at all. Cream of crab was rich and creamy with plenty of crab chunks. I've had some good cream of crab in cape cod and this one was comparable. Top it off with old bay and you are ready to feast. Md crab soup is a tomato-based vegetable soup. It also had plenty of claw meat with crunchy vegetables- it was spiced perfectly and wasn't too salty. Grilled cheese with homemade gouda and cheddar, cheese was oozing out of it. Bbq pulled pork was ok. The bbq sauce was a bit overwhelming and the roll was standard. They make their own ice cream and they are heavenly. Creamy, rich, dense but churned just right for it to be airy. Try cookies and cream- it's a vanilla based ice cream and it is good. Its thick with oreo chunks and chocolate chips, almost makes it seem chocolate based! PRICE: ~$10 for a very filling meal. SURROUNDING: It's located on a dairy farm and a 5 min drive to downtown bel air. It is quaint, roomy, and well decorated inside- they have real flowers as table piece. SERVICE: The employees are nice and fast with their service. Pick up your ice cream after meal so it won't melt! They also sell local eggs, meat, cheese and spices. You can also get a quart of ice cream for home.

Everything about this place is phenomenal as long as your cognizant of one thing - speed. You will get nothing quickly here. You will park in grass, you will stand in line out the door, you'll order at the counter, and you'll wait for your food which will show up in bits and pieces as it's ready. And it's all part of the experience. The soups and Mac and cheese are phenomenal. The chili Mac is great, and if you like crab, they have a crab Mac and cheese too. The sandwiches are always good, totally custom, made fresh while you wait. The salad looked phenomenal, and my friend made it disappear before I could steal a bite. I also like the mason jar teas. It's an interesting presentation. They use all real plates and silverware - environmentally friendly! And please! Make sure your party buses their table, I don't want to pick up after you. Oh. And the ice cream. The ice cream is to die for. The cake batter is my favorite. Followed closely by the raspberry. The mixed berry is good too, and salted caramel is great if I'm in the mood for something subtle. The menu shifts, so if the line is long your party might want to take turns going up to the chalkboard to see what the days selection is. Always choose a backup or two if it is busy, I've stood in line to order while they sold out my favorites, which is sad. This is my comfort food destination, and my favorite way to impress out of towners without driving into Baltimore.

I'd give it five stars because the ice cream is amazing and this is the cutest place ever, but hold on a sec. I worked in an ice cream / deli shop for years. The two (ice cream versus food) were separately managed, had separate pay lines, etc. Please, for the love of god, split up the line for ice cream versus food orders. There is no reason a person getting two scoops of ice cream should have to wait behind a family of five getting dinner. Two scoops of ice cream takes less than one minute to prepare. Anyways - I suppose this really only dinged one star off because I was so eager to try this insane little cup of deliciousness. My first go... I nearly cried because of how cute it was (side note - dogs on leashes should totally be allowed... it would straight up be a picture perfect country folk scene puzzle that my grandfather used to do). The chalkboard listed all the flavors from heaven and my choices, dirt and cake batter, were amazing. So smooth, almost like gelato, but still good old fashioned ice cream. Staff was pleasant, and the prices were verrrrry worth it for what you get. The same price would get you far less ice cream anywhere else, and this stuff is worth way more than BR, HD, DQ, etc.

Went here for the first time today and had the most amazing experience. You pull up to Broom's and are surrounded by grass fields and the dairy farm. The crab, icecream, and fresh fruit and vegetables are noticeably organic and (VERY) local. There are picnic tables outside so you can enjoy the outdoors while eating your food. It's the perfect place to get away or to just get an extra small icecream cup that isn't that small at all.

  • Lauren M.

Ate here today for the first time on our lunch break. Got there at 1140 on a Tuesday and the line was already out the door. A bit disappointed that they only had one cashier working because I stood in line for quite some time. The cream of crab mac and cheese made up for it, as did the Dirt ice cream in a sugar cone. Pretty good deal to get one of the combo meals. Will come back again but now I know to get there before 1130 for lunch.

Awesome, but this local hot spot has become too hot and this place is a challenge to get service on a Fri and Sat night but I have noticed musicians strumming at times too. Heck I've drove buy on a Tuesday night and the place is packed. All just a testimony to what they are cooking at Brooms Bloom is really good and my Yelp doesn't help my gripe. You gotta try it though, just don't be in a rush! Ice Cream is a 6 on the scale, food is a 4, atmosphere is simply down home flavor and not the hustle & bustle of the work week and that's a solid 5 so go slow down and grab some homemade Harford Co. ice cream.

I love this place! I've gone a few times and it's almost always packed on the weekends, and you can taste why. The ice cream is some of the best ice cream I've ever had. The rest of the food is really good too.

Talk about a gem! I've got family just down the road, and I'd filed this place away on previous visits, waiting for my chance. This week we stopped in for ice cream and liked it so much we came back the next day on our way out of town for lunch. Broom's is basically a shrine to eating local. You can buy ice cream, sandwiches, soup, milk, yogurt, cheese, meats, even canola and soybean oil, and it comes from their own farm or one nearby. The only packaged food I saw in the place was the Herr's chips, and those are from just up the road in PA! And it was all fantastic. I managed to have three different ice cream flavors: coffee, salted caramel, and sweet corn. All good. No complaints about the chicken salad sandwich, either. And my dad, a self-proclaimed cream-of-crab expert, said theirs was one of the best. Wish I'd had some. Surrounded by corn and sunflower fields, it's only a couple miles from I-95, so skip the McDonald's and get in here. It was pretty cheap, too, especially for something so good. I'd give it six stars if I could.

Yeeeah, I kinda get it. Fresh dairy ice cream amidst a scenic pastoral setting with the aroma of manure in the background. I'm not sure I get the all the raving though. Long drive, long line and high prices. The ice cream is pretty good- nothing to write home to mama about. It doesn't have that one-of-a-kind feel (like the Island Creamery in Chincoteague). I found it a little dense and not that creamy. It's not as magical as people claim. Fans rave like they visited heaven. I didn't think it was anything you couldn't get from the freezer aisle. I think the hype stems from the concept more than the product itself. Give someone this ice cream at home in a blind taste test and it would never stand out from store bought. I did find the homemade fruit-infused iced tea sold in pint jars in the fridge to be extrodinary though. Amazingly good and unexpected! Could NOT get enough! Yes- I go to Broom's Bloom for iced tea. With that said, it's a nice place, peaceful and beautiful view out back. It's worth the drive- just not quite up to the hype. The servings are great in size. Definetly a highlight for a Sunday drive

What a cute little place The chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream is delicious The workers are all friendly and very hospitable The line was pretty short during my visit so I guess I was lucky I would love to see the live music show Hopefully I return some time during the summer when it's warm out

I used to live close to Broom's and we were one of its first customers when they opened up. I remember the ice cream being rich and creamy. We moved about 30 minutes away and have not been there in a few years. We went back today and wanted to relive the experience. I got the classic strawberry. Unfortunately we came away disappointed. That rich, thick, creamy ice cream is now very similar to common grocery store ice cream, infused with way too much air without the delicious creaminess or even discernible strawberry chunks. For the premium prices, I expected the quality would remain high. Sad to see the decline.

I kept seeing friends posting pictures of their ice cream on social media and I couldn't stop thinking about one particular picture of a scoop of Old Bay and sweet corn ice cream. In my mind, these things go well together, but not in ice cream! My friend said the flavor was surprisingly good and I was intrigued. I asked my husband to go with me and our daughter this weekend for some ice cream. I didn't have to ask him twice! Located on 543, Broom's Bloom is a nice little spot to come and enjoy a beautiful afternoon with friends and family. There are plenty of picnic tables and chairs to just hang out and enjoy your food and ice cream. We had already eaten lunch, so we didn't try any food, but the menu options looked pretty good. Once there, I completely forgot about the Old Bay and corn ice cream and decided to go with the graham cracker cake batter flavor and my husband chose lemon. I got a small and my husband ordered a medium. He should have gotten a small as well because the servings are pretty generous. We both shared our ice cream with our daughter and she seemed to enjoy both flavors. We sampled each others cups as well. Both flavors were delicious and after finishing our cups we walked to the sunflower garden and then headed back to our car. There was a sign inside Broom's Bloom announcing their upcoming schedule of live music events. If our little one's bedtime wasn't so early, I would definitely come back to hang out and listen to some music and eat ice cream! Maybe when she is older :)

This place is just too cute, though the lines are ridiculously long they make up for it by hosting adorable theme nights and more than generous serving sizes! We didn't know that it was the second annual prince and princess night when we arrived but it was nice to have live music playing when we got there because the line was so long! Plus it was a bonus to have little princesses and princes running around with their dresses, tiaras, swords, and crowns! Too cute! And the sizes!!! Their very small is still a very generous portion for $2.35 of homemade goodness!!! And may I suggest trying one of their trademark flavors like MD Summer which is a sweet corn and old bay ice cream, a savory yet sweet treat if I ever did have one!!!

The parking lot is a rock pile. The lines are long. It smells like cow manure. The indoor seating is limited. The system for ordering and waiting for food is inefficient. The service can be slow. And I could not care less...it remains a favorite place to go. Do not overlook the food menu when stopping for ice cream. *Local tip - try the sorbet*

As a Baltimore native I was excited to return for a visit and discover Broom's. I know good crab soup and I was delighted with the Cream of Crab. It was chock-full of meat and had a wonderful texture. My tastes had me adding more Old Bay which was conveniently available at the seasoning bar. I also tried the Mac & Cheese which was also superb. It was peppered with chunks of crispy cheese which only added to the flavor. I'll have to go back and try the myriad flavors of homemade ice cream!

I've always loved visiting Broom's Bloom in the past. It has always been the place I would take out of town guests because it is unique and they have delicious food. I hadn't been there in about a year and upon visiting yesterday, I was disappointed. First, there were flies everywhere because they had the door propped open. I know the door was open because it was so hot, but having flies flying all around you and continually land on your food is not so appetizing. Secondly, I am used to food taking a little while to come out, but yesterday service was extremely slow. We were there around 3:00 too, so the "lunch rush" should have been over. My friend ordered an entree salad and had completely finished it before my sandwich was brought out, about 20 mins later. And when the sandwich did finally arrive, the pulled pork was quite tough. Also, I ordered a combination meal so I should have been given a chip for ice cream, which they forgot to give me and I had to go back and ask for. All these little things just added up to a not so great experience. Like I said, I've been a huge fan of this place in the past yesterday's experience didn't make me want to return anytime soon.

Great little gem of a place to relax with friends, family, and food. Very generous portions of ice cream, and cool and unique flavors. So far cantaloupe and coconut chocolate chip have been my favorites. The soup is amazing also. I recommend the 1/2 and 1/2, as the cream crab alone is a bit thick, and of course you will want to try the maryland crab soup also! Best I've had in the area for sure. I adore the sun flowers and corn fields in the summer, and the live music playing on sundays. I cant wait to see what they do in the fall! BTW this may be the only place in a 10 mile radius that actually has a line all the time!

Got off the highway because of traffic while driving from NJ home to DC, and randomly searched for somewhere nearby to get the kids ice cream - what a great discovery! Took forever, but the ice cream was amazing.

If you arrive and find a line out the door, do not dismay. Wait it out. It moves quickly and you'll soon discover why there's a line at all. So good.

Great Ice-cream, best in Harford county ! Chicken salad is fantastic as a sandwich or other options, don't forget excellent crab soups !

We went on a beautiful day so sat outside to enjoy the weather. I ordered sweet corn and Graham cracker batter ice cream with fudge. It was yummy. Service was good.

Ordered bulk ice cream from here for our wedding. All of our guests raved about it. The staff was very friendly on the phone during the ordering process and helpful when we picked it up. We love supporting local businesses and this one is definitely worth doing so!

Never disapoints when we stop in here , the only thing is that they do not always have the same flavors( NOT A BAD THING ) by any means, but when you have that craving and you run up the road to get some RICE PUDDING ICE CREAM, or..... HABANERO PINEAPPLE and they are out or not making it fresh that day, there are always other delicious choices. They also have a frozen section with Marrow bones for my Dog Meadow and she makes out either way.

Getting to broom blooms you notice one thing. There is a long line. But there must be a reason right? Waited in line for about 5-10 minutes and finally ordered some crab soup and some icecream. I had my default strawberry icecream. Ordered the very small and it was delivered to my table. Surprisingly there was a lot of icecream for being a very small, not to mention it was cheap. I ate the crab soup first and it was delicious. Very rich in flavor. Perfect portion for a serving. You could tell they used real crab meat cause sometimes you'd run into a part if the shell. But it was delicious. The icecream was perfect. Not too thick and not too sweet. Flavor was rich as well. I would eat here again and I would recommend others. The environment of the farm is awesome.

I must agree with a few others who have reviewed here about separating the lines. We *almost* walked out the door because the line moved so slowly. However, we were already there, hungry. It would have been a total mistake to have left let me tell you. My daughter and I both ordered the Dairymaid's Delight (soup, bread, fruit, cheese, ice cream) and it was so fresh and filling. Both their Maryland crab and Cream of crab are to die for. Hubby had a sandwich I was envious of (I'm not even a big fan of sandwiches) and the crab Mac. That looked heavenly. The portions were great, price was incredibly reasonable and we will for sure be back! Maybe at opening time for brunch though...

Going to Broom's Bloom is like going back in time..at least to me it is. Everything I've had here has been extremely tasty....chicken salad, amazing quiche, amazing cream of crab soup, awesome ice cream and more. The menu is small, but that tells me that they focus on quality. The prices are pretty reasonable.

This is my favorite place to eat in the entire world. Even though I live about an hour and a half away from Broom's Bloom (me and my friends affectionately call it "the creamery"), I take every opportunity to go and get a wonderful grilled cheese (on rye), bowl of soup (the red pepper and gouda soup) and some ice cream (graham cracker cake batter is the best). If you are heading up or down 95 between Baltimore and Delaware, you must stop off route 543 and get some of the wonderful food at Broom's Bloom. If you are there on the weekends during the spring and summer, beware, because the lines can get terribly long (a testament to how wonderful this place truly is).

I've been to Broom's Bloom a few times now, and always with decent result. The ice cream is clearly home made and recently we tried some light fare too. Mac and cheese and "Baltimore Mac" which is mac and cheese with cream of crab on top. Did I say LIGHT fare? I meant, straight to my hips fare. They have their own cheeses, milks, eggs and meats for purchase too which is a "shop local" plus. The ground beef is cheaper than Wegmans organic. While it's not organic, I'm just using that as an example. Go for the ice cream if nothing else. I'm interested to try a quiche or a sandwich the next go round, but the ice cream is just so filling, I could barely get in the soup!! A definite place to go back to.

This place is an absolute must if in the area. The food is fantastic, from soup to ice cream to sandwiches. It can get crowded as hell and the parking will go fast but you won't regret it. The staff are fantastic and it's worth the drive!

Pros: Amazing cream of crab soup Fresh, yummy ice cream (I had the cake batter, which was not as sweet as Cold Stone cake batter, which I preferred)... and the smallest size (the "very small") is actually quite large. Best grilled cheese (that didn't involve bacon) that I've had in a long time. Cute setting Cheap (less than $25 for 2 sandwiches, 1 half sandwich, a cup of cream of crab soup, chips, and 2 very small ice creams) Cons: Slow, with very little organization. It took reeeeally long (over 15 minutes) to get our 3 sandwiches (grilled cheese, BLT, pulled pork). I wasn't the only Allison who had an order in so they kept calling my name and then getting confused when the other Allison already had her order. Other people don't always clean up after themselves, and since it was so busy, the staff also hadn't cleaned up. There was only one table left, and it was covered in trash and spilled ice cream, which I then cleaned up. Cleaning up other people's sticky ice cream and used napkins is not fun. Screaming babies. I totally, totally realize that this is as family friendly of an establishment as they come, but does that mean I have to hear your screaming toddler for the entire time? I love places like this, so if I was in the area I'd definitely come back and eat outside or buy some of their take-home stuff. My GPS was confused, and I think even though I put in S Fountain Green Road, it defaulted to N Fountain Green Road (which is closer to Route 1). Sorry to all the people whose driveways I either mistakenly drove down and/or turned around in!

OMG! I never thought I could find such amazing, homemade ice cream so close to work. Great for the transitioning seasons with the variety of flavors. And their local eats - especially milk, eggs and meats - a great selection from the farm! I highly recommend if you can find your way up here!

Great place. Probably my second favorite place to grab food in the country. It is this ranch house on the roadside of this big piece of farm land. Everything here is completely home made from scratch, or right from farm to table. Ice cream, teas, milk, cuts of meat, Mac and cheese, cold cuts, etc. The food is not totally spectacular, it is very very good though. It is unique though, you can taste the comfort of it. The whole ambience really puts you at ease and make you feel like you're home. Never felt that before. The ice cream is the best I've ever had too, incredibly fresh and so many great flavors. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because of the service. The way you pick up food and the tables are handled are somewhat unclear. It is like a busy morning at a Starbucks. No one knows who's is what or what is going on. However, the employees were very kind and helpful, it was just really busy I think. If you want the best ice cream of your life and not to mention a free mason jar when you buy their home made tea, you need to travel to this enchanting ranch house and try it out.

Fantastic ice cream--my favorite items are the "Strange Bedfellows" odds and ends of ice cream usually available in the freezer section; they get me to try flavors I otherwise wouldn't, like gingerbread (ok) and peppermint (excellent)!

  • Becca H.

The service is great - very friendly employees. The cream of crab soup was to die for! So creamy with nice big chunks of real crab meat. I also got a half a chicken salad sandwich - it was so-so. But the ice cream sealed the deal. So creamy, you can tell it's homemade, not overly sweet, just perfect. I got the caramel cashew, but that didn't stop me from sneaking a bite of my daughter's chocolate :) I will definitely be going back. Who knew that there was such a little gem of an eatery only 10 mins from home!

This is such a lovely spot to go for ice cream or a light lunch. The farm is idyllic on warm summer evenings sitting outside eating homemade ice cream. My favorite flavors there are Blueberry Pie in the summer and Pumpkin in the fall. Their quiches are good, too. You can pick up some milk and cheese from their dairy cases while you're there. Great Harford County spot.

The line is ridiculous during peak hours (which is basically all the time in the summer). However, the food is AMAZING! The salted caramel ice cream, chocolate milkshake, grilled cheese, cream of crab, and there mason jar sweet teas are my favorites! I love it there. It is a great environment with friendly staff.

Crazy good ice cream! I have had their lunch food before which is good but the ice cream is out of this world. It is no wonder that they are one of the top ten ice cream parlors in the country!

Date of visit: Sunday March 18th This is our second time visiting Broom's Bloom. We hardly get over to this part of Harford County, but as luck would have it, my wife and I just happened to be passing by on our way from dropping off her car at Jones Junction and heading to the Casino at Perryville. So we decided to stop for lunch before going on to the Casino to win (yeah, right...lol) some money!!! We both decided on getting the "Cowman's Repast" (cup of soup, 1/2 sandwich, & very small ice cream) for about $8 / person. Sheri ordered the Roasted Red Pepper Bisque (see picture), egg salad on pumpernickel, and Andi's Mint ice cream. Sheri let me taste her soup, MMM that's good soup!!! Her egg salad sandwich was really good too. The pumpernickel is a little too thin, so it breaks easily, would be better toasted. I had the 50/50 Maryland crab soup with cream of crab soup...OMG!!!...yummy, spicy, creamy, crabby heavenly delight!!! (see picture) This soup screams M A R Y L A N D people!!! Oh, before I forget... I also had the chicken salad on Jewish Rye (meaning caraway seeds). The chicken salad was delish, with lots of big tender chuncks of seasoned roasted white meat with just enough mayo to hold it together. I ordered the chocolate-strawberry ice cream. Desert, Oh Yeah!!! First the very small ice cream is anything but really small (you gotta check my pictures), Lunch was big, so we didn't want our ice cream on cones, yeah we're strange, so what! Sheri had the Andi's mint, oh my, that was light and minty, not overwhelmingly so though. Just right for a nice desert, or a refreshing treat anytime of the day, week, month, or year!!! you get da picture!!! I had the chocolate-strawberry ice cream, oh oh OMG!!! For all you chocolate lovers, this is da orgasimic bomb of bombs!!! Yummy delish chocoloate with a hint of strawberry flavor with real strawberries. One taste and your brain's neurotransmitters will be screaming happy with you and everyone else, as you replentish your seritonin, phenylethylamine, and dopamine. So if you are feeling a little down or want to score with your honey, then I would prescribe a dish of the chocolate-strawberry as your anti-depressent or aphrodisiac. (brings to mind the song Paradise by Meatloaf, second stanza... "Stop right there! I gotta know right now!.... Do you love me! Will you love me forever!!! Do you need me!! Will you need me forever!!! Will you make me happy for the rest of your life!!!... Will you love me forever!!!" Yes, YEs, YES.... Opps, I think I digressed just a tad....LOL!!! So if you are in the mood (or looking to get in the mood...lol) for something yummy, then Brooms Bloom Diary is the place... For some Good Eats (sorry Elton Brown)!!!

So, as other people have noted, the line here is long. Mostly because the people who work here, while nice enough, are not very competent. The line snakes through the restaurant and past tables of diners; not my idea of pleasant or relaxing. Although the ice cream menu was posted on a blackboard, their regular food menu was confusing. There was a blackboard listing soups and quiches of the day, but the actual menu, which described the soups and sandwiches was on a counter in the front, further slowing the line. The green salads are displayed in the cooler as you walk by, so not freshly made. There is exactly one type of salad as well. There are no self-serve drinks, so get enough up front or you'll be standing in that god-awful line again. The woman who took our very simple order seemed to really struggle and asked us to restate our order about 3 different times. Our soups came out pretty much right away. We ordered MD crab and it was nothing special. The veggies in it were canned peas and corn, but the crab tasted fresh enough. Then we waited somewhere between a half hour to forty minutes for three cold half sandwiches and three whole PBJs. Again, nothing special. The meat tasted high quality, the tomato was overripe and they didn't even toast the bread. We all ordered meals with ice cream so we could give it to the kids with us. They give you a little poker chip you can redeem when you're ready. The ice cream line is much shorter, but horribly disorganized. I did not eat the ice cream. I don't like ice cream, but I seriously doubt that having tasted the ice cream would have improved the review. This place is inconvenient and irritating, and definitely not worth the hassle. I should also note that if you choose to sit inside, you will be cramped and bumped into by the people in the two different lines, and if you sit outside, you will basically be in a large field surrounded by rowdy kids whose parents see little need to supervise since it's outside. Nope.

Holy cow this place is good! (see what I did?) If I had a family, I would be bringing them here after every softball game, soccer match, tennis tournament, debate, theatrical production, report card, and rainy day. Being somebody who finds very little attraction to sweets, I cannot seem to resist anything made at Broom's Bloom that contains the words "graham cracker swirl." I have been here a number of times, and honestly found myself surprised that I hadn't yet Yelp'd this place. I hear they have lots of events with live music and whatnot, but I haven't been to any of these -- yet. Beyond dairy pleasures, they do also sell your typical dairy items and local meats. Growing up in a small farming community, I dig this. Very cool place with a very family-oriented attitude.

Oh maaaaaaaan this place is good! We came here after archery, and it was a great way to end the day. I got the Dairymaid Delight, which came with mac and cheese, fruit, cheese, a biscuit, and ice cream. First off, the m&c was amazing. Tender, creamy, cheesy, SO VERY YUMMY! The cheese I got was probably the best cheese I've ever had. I think it was Gouda. I think it was amazing. I think I'm in love. The fruit was fresh, the biscuit was warm, and my ice cream was good. I got cake batter, and it delivered! The very small is actually rather large, and is the perfect size for most people. All in all I spent $9. I'll def be back!

Got there on Sunday, with about fifteen minutes prior to opening, there was a decently large line being formed outside. I read all the reviews and thought it is a good sign! Since a lot of people were swearing by their Mac'N'Cheese, I just had to try it. Well, I do not know why do the folks like it...To me it was not even the average, it was way below average, sorry... Some simple noodles in a paper cup, a bit of creamy substance around...That's it. I could not eat more than couple of spoons, it was so bland and plain. I mean, doctor it by adding some bacon bits if you feel, but why, oh why do the people give raving reviews to this particular Mac? What a disappointment. However, their Maryland crab soup is a whole another story...Wonderful, wonderful soup with large chunks of crab meat there, not oversalted, just superb. I would come back just for the soup BECAUSE...their ice cream sucked (although the portions are large! We had small sized cups and they run huge!). We had cherry vanilla, vanilla and chocolate. My daughter had to complaint that they had no strawberry, which I thought was weird, isn't it basically the most popular flavor after chocolate and vanilla? I made a big mistake of ordering their lemon sorbet, it tasted like a chemical. Like it was made using some canned lemonade or worse, this awful packages to make a lemonade out of some cool aid powder. Ugh, had two spoons and threw it out. All of it run about 19 bucks plus tip. Place was busy, nice people eating all around, families with babies, cute. Yes, lines do snake around several tables but I did not find it annoying and about 30 minutes after the place opened it calmed down a bit and the line was almost gone. Service was pretty fast, with soup/mac given to us first, then ice cream/sorbet arrived, one by one... It is a cute place to go on some cold Sunday afternoon after church, I guess and have a huge bowl of MD crab soup, but I would not order their mac. Menu is limited in a way, but my, all I care is the soup and ice cream for the kids. They have sunflower fields around their dirt parking lot, kids had fun running there (although it did smell of cow manure). Ice cream is average, if you want the BEST local ice cream, take a trip to Middleton, there is South Mountain Creamery out there (cows, flies, no AC in the summer), but their milk and ice cream...yummm. The best.

My wife and I go here at least once a week now that the weather has broken. The ice cream here is noticeably homemade and ultra creamy. They have different flavors rotating almost daily, while keeping the staple flavors available all the time. The portions are huge (I never get bigger than a small) and its very well priced. I believe its $3 for a small, but believe me it is more than enough ice cream. The lines here can be crazy long and for an ice cream place, sometimes they move a little slow. Depending on the time you go, you might be waiting 10-15 min to order, then another 5 by the time you get your ice cream. BUT it is well worth it. The inside is decorated in a nice country style and you don't mind waiting around. They even have live music on weekends. I've only had ice cream here so I can't comment on their other stuff. They have milk, eggs, yogurt, meats, honey, etc for sale. They also have sandwiches and soup that seem pretty popular. They have nice picnic tables and a small field for you to sit outside and eat too. Listen to the reviews on here and give this place a try.

An easy 5 star review. Broom's has the best ice cream I have ever tasted and making it even better is the charming dining area located at the actual farm where the dairy cows live. Broom's has about 15 flavors always available, all creamy and all delicious. You can sit inside in the farmhouse style dining area or outside at picnic tables overlooking the farm. In addition to great sweets you can also get a tasty soup or sandwhich or buy local meats and dairy items.

The ice cream is amazing here but a little pricey, but what hand dipped ice cream isn't these days? In the summer and on weekends however, this place gets jam packed. Packed like sardines packed! There is plenty of outside seating but who wants to sit out in 90 degree weather under blazing hot sun just for their $6 ice cream to melt all over their lap? Inside seating is minimum (not enough to handle the amount of people they get) and some of the seating is near the counter where everyone is waiting for their ice creamy concoctions. The food here is also good but you don't get very much of it for the price you pay. We ordered soup and quiche and paid a lot of money for very little food. I know it is homemade but I felt a little ripped off when I got it home. Service seemed friendly but I guess I couldn't really tell with all the people waiting and the poor kid just trying to keep up with all the people in line. I haven't tried any of their other foods after the (insanely expensive) quiche and soup but I will definitely go back for more ice cream! And did I mention that the ice cream portions are huge?!

Mmm.. if I wasn't a health freak, Broom's Bloom would be a part of my daily diet. A Harford county treasure, it well represents Maryland's excellent farm food. The peanut butter icecream makes me want to roll in it. If I move away from MD, I'd come home for it. The dirt is amazing too, its cookies and cream made with chocolate base instead of vanilla. I've never had a flavor I didnt like. I make sure to get the biggest size like a true fatty.

  • Madison W.

This ice cream will change your life! You will never want to buy Ice cream from the supermarket anymore! The Dirt, Coconut, Cake Batter, and Peanut Butter flavors were all superb. Fresh made daily from the cow to store that's just awesome. Flavors change daily its that fresh. I had to buy a shirt as a souvenir I loved it so much. I loved how it was on farm and you can see the cows right there I was eating my ice cream thinking hmmm I wonder which one this came from LOL!

Treat yourself! This place has some delicious and unique ice cream flavors that are a must-try. Everything is creamy, homemade, and mm mm good. Blueberry muffin? Peanut butter cup? Yes, yes, yes! Portion sizes are huge, but no complaints about that! Don't hesitate to try anything off their regular menu as well. The homemade mac & cheese, gazpacho, and bbq beef sandwich are my personal favs. On top of great food and reasonable prices, this place as an inviting atmosphere for family or a group of friends. They've got plenty of outdoor seating on their farmland, which is between fields of cows and fields of corn. The past few times I've been there they had a guy playing guitar and singing some great campfire tunes. A great place to get that country feel while enjoying some tasty treats!

We went back to the land of the magical cows and that great ice cream. This time we had black raspberry, maraschino chocolate chip, mint chocolate chip and coconut chocolate chip. While they were all good the maraschino chocolate chip was magnificent. It tasted like the chocolate cherry candies from Rheb's candies only frozen and creamy. We purchased two flavors for take home - Strawberry chocolate chip and Burgundy cherry. I tasted a spoonful of each and I'm still on cloud 9. I will report back when I return to planet earth. Note: We went at 7 pm on a Saturday night and it was very busy. So if you don't like standing in lines go earlier if you can.

I almost did not write a review because I love this place and do not want it booming anymore, but I love it so much, I had to share. Incredible ice cream - rich, smooth, flavorful. Service - always with a smile. Views - incredible of just farm land. Tons of seating outside with picnic tables and lots of room for kids to run around. The prices are also very reasonable. As long as this keeps up, we will keep coming!

Wish there was one like it in HoCo, but definitely worth stopping by if you are in the area. Family friendly, plenty of parking and outdoor seating with open field for kids to run free-range. Rocking chairs outside and live entertainment on weekends. Cold water is a "must have" in ice cream stores and they've got it. Also have lunch/cafe style food. Sell raw milk, raw milk products, and meats. Heard chocolate milk is good. Ice cream prices are very reasonable.

This place is a treasure! I went here after visiting the archery range nearby. The roasted red pepper soup and the Maryland "half and half" were delicious. Their prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food and ice cream. Try the chocolate with strawberries--you'll be hooked!

Most people will review a business if they get a complaint. I'll admit I have been to Broom's Bloom plenty of times - for lunch, for ice cream, for their summer entertainment evenings - and I'm just now getting on to review them. Why? Because I'm lazy, not because they are anything less than amazing. I've had their cream of crab soup - delish. Quiche - delish. Various platters - amazing. Ice cream- to die for. Service? Always friendly. I love it here. Today I placed a large to go order over the phone. I could tell it was hectic for the woman taking my order, hectic for me (phone issues) and I knew they were busy. The order was ready when promised, and everything was 100% perfect. I have no qualms about repeating my business to Broom's Bloom Dairy over and over and over again.

Love this place. Some local restaurants even buy ice cream from them to serve. I always get the Dairymaid's Delight: cup of soup, biscuit or cornbread (the biscuits are amazing), local cheese & fruit, very small ice cream. The very small ice cream is really the perfect size. They also have a ton of different flavors. Their chocolate milk is delicious, but they also have a cooler with water in it off to the side, which I missed my first time there. Every time I go I make sure to pick up a container of their mix and match ice cream. Basically they throw "scraps" of ice cream together to fill up a container for a discount. Their fresh, local meats and eggs are great too. On Saturdays and Sundays they have live music, but I've never caught it. Hopefully I'll get a chance to soon, because I can't wait to go back!

Returned to Broom's today. I had a waffle cone with cookies and cream - it was ginormous. My beautiful gf had a cup of graham cracker, chocolate, and caramel cashew. The cookies and cream was my favorite, but better than any of the ice creams is that tasty waffle cone. Yum. My fave local ice cream is still Taharka though.

Best ice cream in Maryland. Fresh made at the farm in dozens of incredible flavors - some standard (vanilla, chocolate, berry) and some unusual (habanero pineapple) and incredibly tasty place to beat Maryland's summer heat and humidity. As an added bonus in the fall, the sunflower fields next door are stunning. Ice cream, sunflowers, and sunsets...a great way to spend an evening.

I have never had any of the food here but the ice cream is wonderful!! The portions are huge!! A small is usually more than enough for me. The flavors are unique and the ice cream tastes super fresh. My absolute favorite was the thin mint ice cream. The outdoor eating area is cute and the live music on the weekends makes this place a great place to just relax while having a cool treat. We will definitely keep going back.

This place is great! Awesome ice cream and flavors. Great atmosphere with seating outside or inside. A relative searched all over for the best crab soup in the area and said that this place had it! In addition to the great food and ice cream, they have lots of steaks, ice cream, etc. that you can buy to take home. If you go on a sunny weekend or weekday, you may even get lucky and have a band playing outdoors. Overall, highly recommend!

  • Travis G.

Warning: one bite of their ice cream will cause you to instantly want all the ice cream in your mouth. If you try that, you will certainly develop a debilitating cranium lockup (brain freeze). Try to use restraint when partaking in their delicious frozen treats.

Don't let the relatively small number of reviews fool you. This place was poppin'. I thought I could swing by to grab a cup and be on my way. Silly me. People were lined up, right out the door and into the parking lot. Granted, it was a mighty hot Saturday... and it was a good time for dessert (8:30ish), but it wasn't too long before their closing hour. Don't be deterred by a line. Dairy farm ice cream has this extra oomph. I knew I wouldn't make it up there all that frequently so I ordered 3 flavors (medium=3 scoops): black raspberry, coconut almond, and graham cracker. Here's how it went: My first thought was that the cup is really big... like "Gotta Have-It" big. To save myself some shame, I'll tell you from the get-go that this was one of the few times I actually wasn't able to finish. With my first spoonful of the black raspberry, I looked out over the playing children & vast farmland at the sun setting, and you know what popped in my head? "Heaven, I'm in Heaven, and my heart beats so that I can hardly speak~" I've already mentioned before that I LOVE ice cream, but even I don't think that's a normal thought to have... which leads me to conclude that in fact, it must be that good. I've decided that black raspberry is in my top 3 all-time favorite flavors and I'm not quite sure about the other 2. The coconut almond was next and I think I'd have really liked it if I were a bigger fan of coconut. Couldn't exactly explain why a not-so-much-fan would order the coconut except that I've fairly recently rediscovered Almond Joys and found them to be amazing in small doses (very different from the conclusion I made when I was younger) + I love the smell of coconut when it doesn't have that suntan lotion tropical fruit scent mixed in with it. I think I trick myself into thinking I like all kinds of coconut flavor. At any rate, their coconut is more subtle (less Almond Joy artificiality), with good flakes. The graham cracker wasn't what I expected, not to say it wasn't good... but to me, it tasted pretty close to a cake batter flavor with graham cracker pieces. I had my hopes up for something closer to the graham cracker I had at another establishment. Keep in mind, however, that I had eaten about 2/3s of a "Gotta Have It" size so it wasn't going to have as much appeal as my first flavors. Couldn't finish. In conclusion, here's my last "don't." Don't come alone. That way, you can share. :) + This place, aside from smelling like fertilizer, really pulls off a sense of invitation. The place itself is cute as can be, and the girl who took my order was so sweet and helpful. They had someone performing live acoustic when I went and all-in-all, it made me think "family-friendly."

It's hard to imagine their meals could be as good as their ice cream, but it is. They catered an event for work last week and the food was fabulous. Especially love their unique salads.

I've only had the ice cream, but I can say that it is quite good. Service can be slow and seating hard to come, both of which contribute to knock off one star, but I will be back.

This is a great place to get ice cream. It is very family-friendly, and my kids love playing in the little yard with the other children. The ice cream is made on premises, and is delicious.

My fiancé and I had wanted to check this place out for a while but just never got around to it. We decided to finally check it out when we got cravings for ice cream this weekend. The service was friendly & attentive. I decided to get the Maraschino Cherry Chip and he got the Caramel Cashew. The ice cream was rich, creamy & packed full of flavor. The waffle cones were crunchy & wonderful. This place is our new favorite place for ice cream. We decided to get some local eggs and yogurt while we were there and both have been excellent.

After I received 2 raving reviews from my friends in addition the awesome ones from Yelp, I decided to take a little adventure to Broom's Bloom Dairy. After spending the day in Bel Air, I punched in the address of Blooms into my GPS since I am horrid with directions. After driving through winding roads, my GPS told me I was there, but it seemed a bit off. Turns out I ended up on the main farm. I ended up parking next to a farm house and was welcomed by barking dogs. A nice person sitting in a car directed me down a rocky road on the farm to the location of Blooms. And It was sure busy! I came at 2:20pm on a Saturday thinking that there would be less people but this place was packed! I went straight to the refrigerator display cases which held everything from milk, butter, yogurt, cheese, eggs, and beef. The beef is sold prepackaged, which was a bit disappointing. The milk is sold in either plastic or glass bottles, just note that if you buy milk in a glass bottle there is a $2 deposit for the bottle. After grabbing some milk and cheese I waited in line to pay for the milk and cheese and to order some soup, a quiche and some ice cream (of course). I ordered the chocolate peanut butter ice cream. It wasn't as sweet as I expected but very tasty. I ordered the cream of crab soup and its the best I've had so far. The quiche I have yet to taste. Either way it was all good and the service is great and the people are very nice. I definately would come again~

Ice cream was delicious (blueberry muffin has real blueberries, peanut butter shake also got high marks)! Also got a few raw bones for the dog, which he loved. Overall it was great and I would recommend. Cons: 1.wait was long-but I expected that from reviews and they even have a sign posted warning you it isn't "fast food" 2. No dogs, not even on the patio - poor pup had to swelter in the car :(

Good ice cream and generous portions. They have good and interesting flavors. The problem with a place like this (or the good thing for some) is their flavors change all of the time so if you have a favorite-get it fast because it will most like be gone next time you visit. Great grassy area for kids to run around. Wonderful atmosphere on summer weekend nights with a live musician. The lunch food is not good to me and the choices are bad. The sandwiches are as simple and small as you can get (read: 2 slices of Wonderbread with 2 thin slices of ham inside) for a high price.

Bias, this is our neighbors daughter LOL. I love this place though. It is quaint and has acoustic guitar. Their soup and coffee is wonderful too. The ice cream is a major treat to the family, and you can't get fresher than this. The cows are within eye sight :)

We just discovered Broom's Bloom Dairy! Everything was delicious. Had BLTs & a salad (GORGEOUS!) plus the delicious ice cream. The place was packed & I can see why. We'll definitely be back.

Great place to meet the family! Food was super and the beautiful sunflowers were a great place to take pictures! We really enjoyed it and will go back. It is only a little off 95.

I don't really know what to add. It seems like all reviews cover most of the awesomeness of this place. I will add that I have been here several times already since I recently moved to the area, and everytime we come here, its just a great experience. One Sunday, we visited and there was live music. The sun was out. The sunflowers were just beautiful. I got to snap some really nice shots of my son in the sunflower field. I will say that this is a must stop for families w/children. There were some other children who had brought some soccer balls with them and my son just joined right in and played with them. There is a large area where they can play. Not only is the ice cream and food delicious, but the whole vibe is fantastic.

What an unbelievable place! Great food and EXCELLENT Ice Cream. And it's all not just locally produced stuff, but the milk for their dairy stuff is from cows right there on the farm. Everything there is more or less homemade. I would say it's a hidden gem in Harford County, but from the time we got there until the time we left the line was out the door for this place; and I am not exaggerating about this. And I see why. I had a pulled BBQ Chicken Sandwich that was outstanding, and some great black cherry ice cream. There is no need for a Baskin Robins or Friendlys near us anymore. I'll drive back to Broom's to buy ice cream for the house.

Great ice cream and prices are very reasonable. It can get very busy on the weekends in the summer and the line can get very long. Otherwise it is a great local establishment!

Awesome ice-cream,and the best part about it is that it's cheap. They have all different types of flavors and sizes for everyone. Best ice cream in harford county for sure!

Anytime you can see the cows from the store, you know good ice cream is sure to follow. The selection of flavors always varies (Blueberry Muffin, Butter Brickle, Egg Custard, Cranberry-Walnut just to name a few) and they have music on Sundays, which is nice if you have children (I do) who can run around and work off their inevitable "sugar high" before getting back in the car. Another good part about this place is that it is relatively cheap. I'm not sure what Elmer was talking about when he said it was expensive...you can get two small cups (which is plenty for a normal adult) for less than $5.00. I guess he/she has never been to Coldstone before. All in all, a great place to relax with the family and have good, quality, farm fresh ice cream.

I always past the farm but never stopped by or thought any more of it. I googled and found that they serve a lot there, so decided to try it out. We went this past weekend with some of my out of town family. Why have I never came here before, I was asking myself. It was Saturday afternoon and they were pretty busy but kept the line going and even the younger staff was VERY friendly and helpful as well! We went for ice cream this time but will come back for their lunch as it smelled and looked delicious! The ice cream was DELICIOUS! They have a lot of different flavors, which I was told changes daily, their cup sizes all vary as well and the smallest cup was more than enough for myself. I tried the Orange Cream and it was the best. The view is incredible outside and plenty of outdoor seating.

I love this place. It has amazing food, most of which is local, the people are always friendly, and the lamb we've gotten from there was incredible too. I don't like that they're closed on Mondays, but that's not the end of the world. Their pumpkin custard is to DIE for.

Love, love, love me some Broom's Bloom. Fresh, local, happy cows make some freakin' amazing cheese and ice cream. I've had lunch here a couple of times, and it doesn't disappoint, either- quiche, egg salad sandwich, and half & half soup: cream of crab and maryland crab soup (might sound a little odd, but I thought it was perfect). There's usually a line in the summer, but it's worth it.

Deliciously fresh homemade ice cream. As fresh as it gets and they are very generous with the servings here. Love the Peanut Butter!

My mom told me about this place. She loves good ice cream and can tell you where all the best spots are. This place did not disappoint! We stopped by here with our 6 year old after dropping her older sister off at camp. I was hungry so I had a cream of crab soup and a half of a chicken salad sandwich and very small ice cream. Ohhhhh the soup was amazing and the sandwich was good, too. Had the vanilla with chocolate covered pretzels and peanuts flavor cone...yummy! this combo was at the super economical price of $7.35. Unheard of ! Hubby and daughter were thrilled with their flavors also. We also picked up some frozen sausage and cheese and meat to take home. And what I really love -- all the products came from local farms! Having grown up in rural Harford County this meant alot to me. It's only a few minutes off the 543 exit of I95 so it's very convienient for passersby. We will be frequenting this place on our visits home.

Mmm... Generous portions of farm fresh ice cream! This excellent dairy sells their wares at the 32nd St. Farmer's Market in Baltimore, but the trek up to the store on the farm in Bel Air is well worth it. In addition to ice cream, Broom's Bloom Dairy sells meat products in many forms, cheese, soup and spices. Almost everything sold is from Harford County.

I surely didn't have the same experience that others seemed to have. Maybe it's just the luck of the draw but when I visited there were only a hand full of flavors and the portions were very small. The quality was only average. I never would have guessed that I was eating homemade ice cream. It is nice to support local farms and the atmosphere is nice but I don't think I will be going back. When I drive past there are a lot of vehicles on the lot so maybe anyplace can have a miserable day.

Without a doubt the best ice cream I've had in the DC/Baltimore area. The texture of the ice cream is unusually different - and what's really impressive is the quality/freshness of the flavors added. I'd recommend anything that has fruit in it - it's probably all picked locally and amazingly fresh tasting.

The best ice cream I've ever had! If you are in Harford County, this is a best see. This farm house turned ice cream parlor is literally located on a Dairy Farm and aside from receiving an Excellent Zagat rating, the locals, myself included LOVE IT. Try the homemade pie a la mode. It's wonderful.

Great atmosphere. We love to go after dinner and have an ice cream sitting on the picnic tables outside watching the sunset by the grain silo. The shop is actually on the farm - doesn't get much fresher than that! They rotate their flavors, so you never quite know what they are going to have....but the coconut or the black raspberry is my absolute favorites. Well worth the drive if you are anywhere close to here!
